We love traveling with our travel trailer pulled by our Tahoe … and every trip I start writing a journal, but never seem to get very far … so maybe if I blog I will get it going … who knows … but let’s try by starting in the past and see what you think … After all, we have some big trips coming up in the next two summers … so if I start now, maybe I can truly have it rolling by then.
Taking photos is a hobby of mine, as well, a lot of nature, hiking trails and fishing adventures, as well as architecture, skylines, sunsets and lots of water.
I would love to receive comments by those of you who do indeed find your way to this blog … so without any further ado … let’s get started by going back to July 14th of last year, 2010 …
We are just leaving Sidney Lanier Lake, Old Federal Campground, Corps of Engineers, site 54, overlooking the lake. Hopefully today will be a better day of journey then yesterday was. The trailer had a blow out the day before, so yesterday we needed to find a Discount Tire store … so into Atlanta we went … Note to Self: Stay out of Atlanta! Chaos reigned … the highways or interstates there, combined with the GPS giving directions, signals and our friends following us in a huge 34 foot rig, well it was almost more then any of us could handle. There was a lot of cussing and flipping the bird going on … A new day has dawned … and we’re on the road again … headed to N. Carolina today.
I think I will regress just a bit here to let you know that this trip is a quick cross country from Central TX to Virginia Beach for Tom’s SEAL Team Annual East Coast Reunion. Our friends Tom and Pam had just bought there first travel trailer (a 34 foot 5th wheel) and they were following us, as road trips is our thing … and we especially love finding the Corps of Engineers Campgrounds (as they are always on water … and we are fishing fools), as well as the National Parks and Campgrounds. Not only do they have great hiking trails, but being that Tom is over 62 we have the Golden Age Pass which gets us into all the National Parks for free, and camping is 1/2 price (Corps of Engineers too).
Dear Vicky, visiting your website is an extension of my unforgettable stay in Alaska and its fascinating beauty.
Warm greetings, Annelies
(Who was sitting behind you in the bus in Denali Park en who found your two girlfriends on my seat!)
Hi Annelies! What a delight to hear from you. We are now back in the US in Montana at Glacier National Park … I was out of touch with this blog (and everyone else) while we traveled through the Yukon, British Columbia and Alberta. Yes, my two girlfriends! LOL … the ear muffs … they belong to my dear friend, Patti, who was traveling with us … It would really have been terrible to have lost them! Tell me about your home and the kinds of things you like to do. I will look forward to hearing more from you.
Living your lives to the MAX!
Congratulations !
Send some Halibut to Pearland TX.
